What days does the train operate?

The Northern Starlight Express departs beginning Thanksgiving weekend, with its inaugural journey on November 29, 2024. The train will run Wednesday through Saturday evenings until January 4, 2025, with special departures scheduled on select dates between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Please note, the experience will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are $65 per passenger, plus applicable taxes and an 18% gratuity, which goes directly to our service staff to ensure exceptional hospitality on your journey.

When do reservations open up and how do we make a reservation?

Reservations open November 22 and will be available on a 7-day rolling basis. You’ll need to book for groups of two or four for this unique experience. All reservations must be made through the Milwaukee Road OpenTable page—tickets cannot be reserved by phone or in person.

Is there a way to book the experience before 7 days in advance?

Absolutely! Guests booking the Northern Starlight Experience Package will be first in line to confirm their reservation.

This exclusive package includes:

* A $50 credit for Northern Starlight Express or Milwaukee Road
* A festive holiday keepsake

* A complimentary room upgrade (based on availability)

* A 1 p.m. late checkout

This package must be booked at least seven days in advance of your stay date.

When should I show up for my reservation?

Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. This ensures a smooth check-in and gives you time to settle in before the Northern Starlight Express whisks you away!

I have a large group, can I reserve the train for a private experience?

Due to the intimate nature of the Northern Starlight Express, with limited seating and a one-hour journey, we’re unable to accommodate large groups or private reservations at this time. We hope you’ll enjoy the magic of the experience in a smaller setting, just as it was designed!

What does my ticket include?

Your ticket includes two expertly crafted drinks per passenger, a selection of gourmet bites tailored exclusively for the Northern Starlight Express, and a commemorative paper ticket to keep as a memento. While dinner isn’t served on board, you can extend the evening by reserving a table at Milwaukee Road Restaurant & Bar, just steps away.

Is this experience all ages?

The Northern Starlight Express is a 21+ experience, as alcoholic beverages are part of the journey. Please bring valid identification. Additionally, due to motion graphics and immersive effects, this experience may not be suitable for those with photosensitivity or motion sickness.

Can I stay for drinks after the experience has concluded?

If you’re not ready for the night to end, head to Milwaukee Road Restaurant & Bar for more signature cocktails or to linger over another round.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

We’ve got you covered! Fixed vegan, gluten-free, and non-alcoholic options are available upon request. Please notify our staff upon arrival, as these accommodations apply to the full menu for your group of two.

Are there on-site parking options available?

Yes! Valet parking is available at the hotel entrance, or you can self-park in our lot located on the east side of the hotel off 5th Avenue South, between Washington Avenue South and South 2nd Street.
